Walker Response

Walker Art Museum

First of all I had never been to the Walker Art Museum so it was very interesting to explore something new that I mostly would have never done had I not been enrolled in this course. A few of the exhibits really stood out at me and one of those was the Element exhibit. I found it quite amazing that some of the most simple, non complex piece of art work were put in one exhibit and only 5 piece total displayed in the big area. Some of those pieces included three large 5 foot by 6 foot canvas painted, one red, one yellow, one blue, this just amazed me that this piece was that important for them to put it up over a very complex painting. The other piece was the eight sided octagon that was white and if you didn’t look very close in the exhibit you would have never noticed it because it blended in to the white wall.
The final piece of art work that really intrigued me was the canvas painting that a man did hanging from a rope using his hands and feet. The lines and texture of this painting was really neat.
