Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced Monday that they have been separated for some time, E! News confirmed.
Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, who have a 6-year-old daughter, Coco, released a joint statement announcing their trial separation after 11 years of marriage, according to USA Today.
The statement said, "The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage, according the People magazine.
The couple also said in the statement that they plan to remain "best friends," who love each other deeply, and remain responsible parents of their daughter, according to USA Today.
The couple is currently working together on "Scream 4," according to E! News.
