Panhandling Bagpipers

Sorry it's been so long since my last entry folks, things have been pretty crazy around here! Classes are in full swing now and so are the societies here at University of Worcester. I've joined a musical theater society that is doing a rewrite of Alice in Wonderland as a musical! Auditions were about two weeks ago, and I'm part of the chorus as a playing card.
In other news, this past weekend we took our SIE trip to Edinburgh, Scotland!! It was absolutely amazing, probably my favorite city I've ever been too. It's a beautiful combination of really old historic buildings and fun night spots. Plus, I stumbled upon the cafe where J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone (nerd alert!). I also visited Rosslyn Chapel, which may sound familiar because it is featured in Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code. It turns out Mr. Brown made up a lot of stuff, but the carvings in the chapel are still really cool. We also toured the parliament building and went on a ghost tour of Edinburgh's old alleyways (or closes, as they call them). I learned that Scotland is the only country where Coca-Cola is not the most popular soft drink, and that's because they have their own: Irn-Bru. It's a fluorescent shade of orange and yet it tastes exactly like bubble gum. Strange...but pretty awesome. One of my favorite parts of Edinburgh was the various bagpipers performing on the street. At one point some of us weren't sure where we were going, and someone said "Just follow the sound of the panhandling bagpipers!" And on that note, I must be getting to some homework.
Cheers!
