Hezbullah/Israel confilct continues...

While the U.S. had adamantly defended Israel in their late-2005 border conflict with Hezbullah forces in Lebanon, they might have a tough time doing the same if Israel is found responsible for the killing of one of Hezbullah's top officials, Imad Mugniyeh, Wednesday.

Hezbullah expectedly blamed Israel for the attack, and has pronounced 'open war' on the country. The United Nations has not made an official statement, most likely due to strong-arming by the U.S., as in the past. The U.S. is apparently happy the senior Hezbullah militant was killed, as he was wanted by the FBI for the incident involving the murder of a U.S. Navy diver on TWA 847 in 1985.
