The Food Industry Center will be hosting two events discussing the place of local foods in the food economy.

In the morning, a FREE workshop on Lessons from Case Studies on Local Foods Supply Chains.

This TFIC workshop is designed for local food system participants and advocates, food industry professionals, students and faculty. It will offer an opportunity to exchange ideas about and discuss the emerging role of local food in our food system.

The workshop is based on research published in the ERS Publication Comparing the Structure, Size, and Performance of Local and Mainstream Food Supply Chains and will be led by the report's research team. Researchers compared local and mainstream food supply chains for five product-place combinations conducted in 5 metropolitan areas across the United States and will share their case studies findings.
