Development Reconsidered: IPID Speaker Series kick-off event

IPID will kick-off its speaker series on "Development Reconsidered" on Monday, Feb. 15, at 6:30p.m. at the Coffman Memorial Union Theater on the University of Minnesota's East Bank campus. This will be a panel discussion bringing together local scholars from around the Twin Cities. Everyone is invited to attend.

"Development Reconsidered" is an exciting speaker series being hosted by an interdisciplinary group of U of MN graduate students. The speaker series is intended to promote a critical reexamination of the field of international development and the future of development programs.

Panel members for the kick-off event are:

Dr. Michael Goldman, Associate Professor and McKnight Presidential
Fellow, Department of Sociology, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

Dr. Amy Damon, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics,
Macalester College, St. Paul

Dr. William G. Moseley, Associate Professor, Department of Geography
and Director of the African Studies Program, Macalester College, St. Paul

Dr. Samuel Zalanga, Professor, Department of Anthropology and
Sociology, Bethel University, St. Paul

The facilitator is:
Dr. Frances Vavrus, Associate Professor, Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
