A 12-year-old girl was shot in the head in north Minneapolis

On Saturday night around 12 a.m. a 12-year-old girl was shot in the head and is now in critical condition. The girls family was having a party when it happened. The Star Tribune covered the story Here and focused on how violent crime in Minneapolis is involving younger and younger people. The Star Tribunes article was long and covered the story but went into more details with statistics on violent crime and other shootings involving other people like Charez Jones who was killed last summer. I thought it was too long for an internet news story. The Pioneer Press covered the same story and included more details about the actual shooting, the girl and her family, and neighbors who knew the young girl and what she was like. The story was also a lot shorter but in seemed more thorough.
The girl is thought to be a random person and not a target. She is still in critical condition.
