Tonu Mikk The goals around my job at the Disability Services fall into several categories:

  • Technology needs internal to Disability Services
  • Campus wide accessibility related initiatives
  • Advisory role to Peggy about Disability Services services and campus wide initiatives
  • Advisory and support role for Phil around Computer Accommodations program 
Technology needs internal to Disability Services have a number of projects currently under way:
  • Re-designing the Disability Services website
  • CAP request tracking
  • Inventory tracking
  • WorkFlowGen modifications for Document Conversion
  • Ongoing research and development of Document Conversion work

There are two major campus wide initiatives that I would like to participate in:
  • Ensuring accessibility of public and course websites
  • Captioning of lectures
In addition to these broad categories and project this job will play a role in OED IT.  It may mean helping OED with web presence.  

Personally, I would like to learn a programming language.  More specific goals will be developed in the next post.

Tonu Mikk Today I was offered a permanent job with Disability Services as an Information Technology Professional. I am very delighted about the job offer. Having worked for DS since January of 2010, I have gotten to like the office and the people I work with. It is my goal to work hard at this job and provide the best service I can to the University of Minnesota.

I will keep this blog to help me document goals and progress towards them as I begin my permanent position.
