Japanese Challenge!

I have registered to take the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) this December. I'm taking Level 4, the easiest level (I'm still not that good).

Recently, I've been making many Japanese friends and getting more involved with the Japanese community in general. I've taken Japanese tutoring, hosted a Japanese student, sometimes visit the Japanese service at the church I attend, and started attending events of the Japanese student association at my university.

All of this has gotten me excited and re-energized to continue my study of the language. And so, my first challenge is to pass this JLPT test. If I do good this year, I'll take the next level (Level 3) next year. I only hope I can find time to study for the test in the midst of my TA, RA, and wonderful classes. Let's see how it goes! Gambarimasu! (I'll do my best!)

(I got those translations from Google and Yahoo so I'm not so sure if they're all that good...)

So you're taking that test huh. Well this sat, i have to take the SAT. Annoying test, but oh well, let's see what progress a month of studying at home and using July in a prep school have done. Oh well. Ganbatte! (ps. so that's what it meant... thats good to know)

Good luck with your SAT!

Oh, and Lidia, I'm not sure about those transalations (although they seem to make some sense). I just looked at my post and realized I wrote gambatte (which is asking someone to do their best) and not gambarimasu (which would be me saying I will do my best). I'll change that now.

I am looking for a Japanese tutor in the Minneapolis area to help study for the JLPT Level 3. Do you have someone to recommend?

I wish I did. I had a tutor over the summer, but she moved to Alaska. Right now, I'm just studying by myself. I'll post here if I find any. Good luck!
