Lyric logic
I must agree with Shane: these are hysterical. I bow to their strangely compelling nature by doing one of my 70s favorites:
- Things that are true of you:
- You can see your everlasting summer fading fast
- You grab a piece of something you think is gonna last
- You wouldn't know a diamond if you held it in your hand
- You've been telling me you're a genius since you were 17
- The weekend at the college didn't turn out like you planned
- After all the things we've done and seen, you find another man
- Things that are true of me:
- In all the time I've known you, I still don't know what you mean
- I spend a lot of money
- I spent a lot time
- The trip we made to Hollwood is etched upon my mind
- I can't understand:
- The things you think are precious
- The things that pass for knowledge
- The things you think are useless
- Questions I'd like answered:
- Are you reelin' in the years?
- Throwin' away the time?
- Are you gatherin' up the tears?
- Have you had enough of mine?
And as long as I'm considering the almighty Dan:
- I will never:
- No, I will most certainly never:
- I want:
- You to understand (please):
- To be your holy man
That's much more fun than it should be.
