Science is where the heart is
So here we are, freshmen, or freshpeople or however you wanna call it. For most of us it's our first time away from home, our first time to be really independent, our first time to really start taking some kind of real responsibility. So choosing something like a major isn't always the easiest thing to do, but let's face it, we're in Carlson, we obviously have some kind of idea on where we want to go.
Me, I'd like to pursue a career in medicine, hence all my pre-med classes. This is no easy task of course. But that's why I'm here, in Carlson and at the UMN. The UMN helps me cut costs of having to go to some ridiculously priced undergrad school with approximately the same quality of teaching. Carlson. Well, Carlson is really my way of exploring what I'm not going to get in grad school. Whether you like it or not, business runs a good deal of the world and if I keep living my life without paying any attention to it, I might not be too happy. It's my "life" class really. Plus, if I want to be pessimistic, I know that if I can't get into med-school I'll have something worthwhile to fall back on. It's the job secuirity. Really.
