Nine Killed After Bombing
Three bombs were dropped by an American aircraft Sunday, killing nine people and wounding nine in the South Waziristan region of Pakistan, according to the New York Times.
This is the third attack in less than three months on the region that is believed to be the sanctuary of Al Qaeda and the Taliban. These attacks seem to be targeting areas that are housing militants.
Pakistan officials believe because of the attacks, more suicide bombers are hitting Pakistan targets. There have been 16 suicide bombings since the year began, according to the BBC.
The northern and southern regions of Waziristan are believed to be the sanctuary of the terrorist groups after they were pushed out of Afghanistan after 9/11.
