Today in class I heard someone bring up the issue or topic of abortion. My best friend and I use to talk about it all the time and had very different views on the subject. What are your thoughts. Do you think abortion is right or what are your feelings on this subject????
Posted by sext0066 at September 20, 2004 03:02 PMI believe in Pro-Choice, I have always felt that it should be your choice to decide whether or not to get an abortion. I know there are other ways to avoid using abortion, but there are some cases that I believe that it should be available for someone to use. For example, in a rape case, the girl could be in high school and no matter what we all know what it is like to be in high school and the "want to be accepted" comes to play in this. I just think that she should have the right to abort the pregancy, because it would be embrassing to be pregnant in high school. There are so many cases that, you should be able to have the option to abort or not.
Many people also use oral contraceptives, which can either be argued that it is or isnt a form of abortion; because it is a lower dose of the actual "plan b" or "morning after pill."
Just some views from the other side. Have a great day!
I'm absolutly agenst it!! The only way I could see it happening is if the pregnecy is harmful to mother or child. If in rape situations adoption is always an option, there are many careing famlies out there who can't have kids and want them. My mom was raped at an young age and she wasn't in a situation to keep the kid so she gave him up for adoption and he grow up to be a great big brother to me, after my mom searched for him when I was 10. I hate it when people say "well what if your raped?", rape or no rape you don't have the right to not give that child the chance to live a happy, full life. That's my opoion.
Posted by: Sarah at September 20, 2004 07:03 PMive never really been able to decide on my feelings of abortion, its hard for me to make a decision on it. i completely understand the point of using abortion when the mother's life would be at risk. but in cases of rape, i kind of agree with sarah. i used to think otherwise, however once i talked to a girl who was born from her mother being raped, and it really changed my viewpoint on that...babies coming from raped victims are babies who can grow up to real people too. but i still see the other side of the womans right to choose, so blahh yea, i can't decide what i think on it.
