Something new for me

This is my first class that has other students from different schools apart of the class too. I think that it is a great opportunity for those students and it's good that the schools participate in that too. It is different having microphones, cameras and televisions everywhere, but I think it is a neat experience. I wonder what it would be like to on the other side with the Rochester students.

Personally...I find the cutting out in the audio when the people in Rochester are trying to speak very annoying. I wish there was something that could be done about that.

I also think it's a bit annoying when we have to wait for people or technical difficulties people are having that aren't even here. I think they have an advantage giving speeches to a camera instead of to real people -- its like practicing in your mirror.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about the audio cut-outs--part of the fun of an ITV class.
There are definitely benefits and drawbacks of giving your speech to a camera. It may take off the pressure a little, due to people not being right in front of you, but it's also harder to keep people interested and entertained, since we as a culture expect this from TV broadcasts. It would be great to hear from the Rochester students about this, too, what they think of it. Also a note to Rochester students: anytime you'd like to give your speech in person, you're totally welcome in the classroom.
