Coon Rapids' retreat will be 2-5 p.m. at Anoka Ramsey Community College on Feb. 20th. Legacy Room. The LT accepted my revised, condensed agenda that:
1. has three strategies
2. has no meal break
3. has no post project selection activities like we usually do

The LT will meet the following week on the 27th to pore over the results and decide what to do next. The key issue is the City doesn't want a gob of work to fall only in their laps. Hasn't been the same kind of community-wide acceptance of the Implement work as in the ideal scenario. Yet they keep on, keeping on. All systems go.

Here is the data I rousted out from our U.M. subscription to Reference USA. An excerpt from my e-mail to them of 5-17-12. This is to help them build their database of possible biz to choose from.

"The datasets attached are the following:
1. All Manufacturing, Mining & Ag. Businesses. Using Maureen's
definition of Mfg. type biz. There is a Summary version and a massive
version (lots of empty cells on that one)
2. All Depository Institutions + Engineering, Accounting, Mgmt
Services. This is for that nebulous B2B category.
3. All Business Services (minus firms that I could ID as retailers,
builders, craft-type biz, etc. -- things that didn't seem very B2B).
Again, this is for the B2B category and it should be mutually
exclusive from 1. and 2. above.
4. Employers > 100. This includes all employers, private or public,
except that I excluded Manufacturing, Mining & Ag. Businesses. So it
should be mutually exclusive to 1. above but may include a few from
either 2. or 3. You guys can figure that out. Anyway, I sorted this
one by Location Employee Size Actual 1st and then Location Employee
Size Range 2nd."

As recruited by CR city officials, Marc Nevinski and Matt Brown, the Leadership Team candidates were oriented by Michael on May 8th at CR city hall. After some awkward moments and pregnant pauses the five leadership slots kind of magically were volunteered for. Biz Resource Coord. first, then Overall, then Visitation, then Milestone Meeting and we penciled in the Media person, who wasn't there. Vincent Vu, a Humphrey School MS student, will be the intern for about 6 mos. and maybe more. How much each coordinator does and how much their staff do (back where they work) and how much the CR intern does remain to be negotiated.

Next up, plan the work and timeline and recruit a task force. They're hoping to launch the survey sometime this summer.
