(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball program will be hosting a fundraiser dinner at the Crookston Eagles Club on Thursday, November 12. Cost of the dinner is $30 for either prime rib or walleye. All proceeds will benefit the Golden Eagle Baseball program.
A social will be held at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Shortly thereafter, a program will be held with Darin Everson who is the manager of the Greensboro (N.C.) Grasshoppers. The Grasshoppers are a "Class A" minor league baseball team associated with the Florida Marlins and play in the South Atlantic League.
A native of Ada, Minn., Everson played his high school baseball at Ada-Borup High School and his collegiate baseball at Valley City State University and Mayville State University. Everson played seven years of minor league baseball including stints with the Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox organizations. He spent time in the Northern League with the Madison (Wis.) Black Wolf and the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Everson was named Team MVP of the Black Wolf and won the league's Ironman Award for most consecutive games played with the Goldeyes. He also managed the Jamestown (N.Y.) Jammers of the New York - Penn League prior to his arrival in Greensboro.

"He is a true local success story and will be an outstanding speaker. Last year's dinner was tremendous. We expect that this year's program will be even more successful."
