University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Soccer Team Shuts Out University of Great Falls 3-0

gibeault_megan09.jpg ogaard_anna09.jpg(Crookston, Minn.)- Anna Ogaard (Jr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) posted her second shutout of the season and Megan Gibeault (Jr, Fwd, Ashwaubenon, Wis.) scored a goal and added two assists as the University of Minnesota, Crookston defeated the University of Great Falls 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Bismarck, N.D. in a non-conference match.

The Golden Eagles took control in the first half and never looked back. Justine Jones (Sr, Fwd, Richland, Wash.) opened the scoring at 32:00 off an assist from Gibeault. Kaitlyn Ostergren (Fr, MF, Lino Lakes, Minn.) got into the act at 41:00 off an assist from Gibeault to make the score 2-0. U of M, Crookston closed out the scoring at 68:00 when Gibeault capped her stellar day with an unassisted goal to make the score 3-0.

Ogaard continued her outstanding play in net with 11 saves.

The Golden Eagles improve to 2-2-1 on the season. They return to action today at 11:00 am when they take on Montana State University - Billings in a non-conference match in Bismarck, N.D.
