(Crookston, Minn.)- Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) took a ten point lead at the half and held on for a 77-69 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball game today at Lysaker Gymnasium in Crookston, Minn. It was the season finale for the Golden Eagles.
The Dragons were led by Alex Novak who scored 22 points (6-for-7) and pulled down six rebounds. Jake Driscoll scored 16 points (5-for-14) with five assists. Dennis Williamson added 14 points (7-for-13) with nine rebounds while Jerome Nelson chipped in ten points (4-for-10).
The Golden Eagles were led by Matthew Heier (Sr, G, Ray, N.D.) who was playing his final game. Heier scored 24 points (10-for-17). Mike Larsen (Jr, F, Bluffdale, Utah) scored 14 points (5-for-11) with six rebounds. Adam Hendricks (Jr, F, Watertown, Minn.) scored 13 points (5-for-8) while Jason Servaty (Jr, G, St. Michael, Minn.) scored ten points (4-for-15) with seven rebounds.
MSUM falls to 10-17 overall and 7-13 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston ends the season with an overall record of 5-22 and NSIC record of 1-19.
The Golden Eagles bid farewell to three seniors. They are Heier, Arol Longar (Sr, C, Rochester, Minn.) and Dusty Rahja (Sr, F, Floodwood, Minn.). The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team thanks them for all their contributions to the program and wishes them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.
