(Crookston, Minn.) - The University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle Women's Soccer program announced today the signing of Kaleena (Katie) Jones from Waukesha, Wis. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2011 season.
Jones is a 5'8" midfielder. She attends Waukesha North High School where she serves as team captain. Jones also plays club soccer for the Brookfield Soccer Association.
"Katie personifies the term student-athlete as she is strong in the classroom and on the field," says Golden Eagle Head Women's Soccer Coach Richard Jones. "She is a strong, physical kid who has the ability to control the midfield. Katie is a consummate hard worker who will bring depth and a physical presence to our already strong midfield. The University of Minnesota Crookston and Golden Eagle Women's Soccer are a perfect fit for Katie."
Jones plans to double major in natural resources - wildlife management and natural resources aviation at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Michael and Delynne Jones.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
