As part of New Student Orientation, a record 254 students participated in Meet Crookston Through Service Saturday morning. Students helped teachers prepare classrooms, libraries, and playgrounds at Washington, Highland, and Cathedral schools. They cleared downed trees from the Mt. St. Benedict ski trails, weeded the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) gardens, cleaned kennels and walked dogs at the Humane Society, assisted with the Habitat for Humanity House, and assisted the city of Crookston and other agencies with painting and tree trimming.
The event was followed by a Reflection Dinner in the evening, where U of M, Crookston students learned much about their new community.
