Senior Lauren Snively Presents at Sustainability Spotlight

merged.jpgSenior Lauren Snively, a communication major from Herndon, Va., is working as an environmental landscaping intern for the NWROC through the Center for Sustainability this summer. She has been busy caring for the Nature Nook and its bog garden, the Natural History Area, and the Youngquist Prairie Garden.

Her work includes recording when the flowers bloom, observing insect and animal activity, maintaining the biodiversity in these special campus spaces, and more.

During a recent Sustainability Spotlight presentation, Snively shared a word cloud she developed around the idea of community and sustainability. Snively is active in the Crookston Students for Sustainable Development (CSSD) and served for two years as a member of the University of Minnesota Systemwide Sustainability Committee.
