Enjoy free ice cream as you listen to music during the kickoff event for Crookston's Ox Cart Days Festival -- music by the Valley Fiddlers, ice cream provided by Sodexo/Dining Services. 

At 3 p.m., Brenda J. Child, author of HOLDING OUR WORLD TOGETHER: Ojibwe Women And The Struggle of Community, will provide a short reading from the book after which she will be available to sign copies of the book at the UMC Bookstore.

At 4 p.m. the first clue for the 2012 Ox Cart Days Medallion Hunt will be announced.
