University of Minnesota, Crookston student Abbey Wemimo is pictured presenting recommendations to members of the Roseau Civic and Commerce Association and the Roseau Convention and Visitors Bureau in late August. He is a junior at UMC double-majoring in organization psychology and business management. He is also a student intern for the Center for Rural Entrepreneurial Studies (CRES). CRES provides free technical assistance and research to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations in Northwest Minnesota while giving students real-world business experience by engaging them with area entrepreneurs. The Center was established in August 2010, when the Business Department at the U of M, Crookston recieved a grant from the Department of Education. More information can be found at www.umccres.org.
