ST. PAUL, Minn. (4/6/2011) —University of Minnesota Extension is moving its coordinated system from flood preparation mode into recovery. In March, Extension announced its coordinated system of educational resources available for those with flood-related questions.

The probability for major flooding along the Red River Valley remains at 95 percent or greater for most locations along the main stem from Breckenridge to the Manitoba border. The Mississippi and St. Croix rivers are likely to crest for a second time in St. Paul and Stillwater. Other areas around the state may experience minor to moderate flooding.

Citizens can access the most up-to-date information on flood recovery by visiting Extension's website at www.extension.umn.edu/flood.

Also available are Extension's toll free phone services, the Flood Information Line (1-800-232-9077) and the AnswerLine (1-800-854-1678). Extension's Flood Information Line is a resource for questions about water, crops, horticulture and climatology issues. Extension's AnswerLine provides answers to household and family-oriented questions, such as cleaning, mildew, and food safety issues.

Extension's online resources include information on recovering from floods. Family, finances, household, and farm topics are addressed. Both phone services will refer callers to appropriate state and federal agencies if additional information is needed.
