At the nursery we celebrated Parking Day this year. This is a new project that occurs on the third Friday in September where citizens use metered parking spaces to create public parks and recreation areas for a day.

The idea behind it is to temporarily reclaim some urban spaces for green areas, to encourage discussions about public green spaces, and to have fun!![]()

Some U of M employees donated their reserved parking spots, and the U gave one metered spot on the St. Paul campus to create some parking spaces this year, and we contributed trees to liven up the space. It was a cold day, but it was still a fun time to gather in a non-traditional park space, and maybe next year we can look into permits for a fire pit.
