AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, has announced that it will serve as prime consultant for the approximately $930-million Minneapolis-St. Paul Central Corridor Light Rail Transit (CCLRT) project.

Experts from AECOM’s transportation practice area, led by DMJM Harris, are being supported by the company’s urban planning practice in managing the project, which has a total contract value of nearly $91 million. Services will include preliminary engineering, final design and designsupport services during construction.

“Our work on this mega-project provides an excellent example of the fully integrated portfolio of services that AECOM is able to deliver to our clients globally,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer.

The Central Corridor project will integrate with the Hiawatha Light Rail Transit line, which currently serves Minneapolis’ business district, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America. Additionally, the railway will connect the University of Minnesota, the state Capitol complex and downtown St. Paul.

The AECOM team will work with the Twin Cities’ Metropolitan Council to develop community participation initiatives, minimize construction impacts to corridor stakeholders and implement context-sensitive design for the historic project.
