In an effort to explore how local foods can be an economic engine for rural communities, Minnesota Seventh District Congressman Collin Peterson is sponsoring a conference, “The Home Grown Economy: Foods from Local Farms as an Economic Development Tool,� at the U of Morris campus on Feb. 26. Sandy Olson-Loy, vice chancellor at Morris, says the conference provides a unique opportunity for people to learn more about the immense potential of local food economies.
