Hockey goalies: protected from the puck but not from players
It's one of the most difficult positions to play in all of sports and now a new study says, despite specific rules to protect ice hockey goalies, they experience most of their injuries from player contact. University of Minnesota sports medicine professor Robert LaPrade, and head physician for the Gopher men’s hockey team, studied NCAA data and says this shines light on goaltender equipment deficiencies.
