July 30, 2007Electronically connecting Minnesotans with health careFinding the right doctor at a local clinic continues to be a challenge for Minnesotans. Now, help is on the way with the University of Minnesota's new My Health Minnesota - Go Local – a free web-based resource that connects consumers with the proper health service. Linda Watson, from the U's Health Sciences Libraries, is working on the project. July 23, 2007"Car Sharing" the gas price burdenThe summer months entice Minnesotans to hit the road and see the country, but they can also bring painful prices at the pump. Lee Munnich, a senior fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, has studied driver behavior and says, that despite the increases, drivers are too attached to their vehicles to significantly change their commuting means. Munnich recommends public car sharing, a system that is used at the U of M and across the country.
