Smoking Ban Signed into Law

Perhaps one of the more controversial pieces of legislation, the governor signed the 2007 Freedom To Breath Act into law today. This bill makes the smoking of tobacco or other plant products illegal in all public areas. Basically, it strengths the Clean Indoor Air Act, extending those regulations to include bars, restaurants, all public places. Smoking will, however, be allowed on outdoor patios of bars and restaurants. This is to take effect on October 1, 2007.

Feature in Pioneer Press, from a smokers view, Doing a Slow Burn.
