There is a difference between and heathy way to lose weight and a non healthy crash diet. Most of us have seen commercials with ridiculous claims on losing weight fast and getting a ripped six pack. These diets do not keep off the weight lost for long and can be very dangerous to your health. The right diet and exercise plan over a long period of time is the right way to lose weight. The media shows you so many false realities on what men and women are suppose to look like. This causes people to try crash diets to lose weight that lead to health problems and even death. This video shows some extreme cases of anorexia and bulimia. Hope you enjoyed reading my post and next time you decide to go on a diet make sure you are doing it the right way!

Yeah, I completely agree with you that there a ways to majorly screw up dieting. A little while ago I was watching KARE 11 and they gave a perfect example of a guy who, in my opinion, botched the process. He did this diet where food was just put into his stomach through a tube like they do to people in the hospitable so he would get the right amount of calories/nutrients. He didn’t actually eat anything at all. They also gave him something so he wouldn’t feel hungry. I think that is beyond extreme.
I've heard of a lot of cases of anorexia and bulimia. Especially some fashion models, I heard quite often, suffer from anorexia for they are worried about their weight too much. Way too skinny fashion models are not at all attractive, so sometimes I don't understand how they can maintain their job with such a repellent (sorry for the extreme word) appearance. One of my acquaintances recovered from her bad bulimia years ago, which I couldn't believe at first because she looked just normal now. I am concerned about my weight as well but maybe I'm just not brave to take the risk. I often end up eating high caloric dessert or controlling my appetite late at night at best.
Where is the video, by the way?
I couldn't agree more. Dieting can be extremely dangerous and many times people end up believing that not eating entirely produces the best results (leading to anorexia). Most of the exercise commercials claiming you can get 6 pack abs fast have disclaimers at the bottom in tiny font saying that dieting is necessary for the right results, typically extreme dieting.
Yes, dieting can be deadly. I read an article the other day that showed how much some of the top models weigh. All of them weighed between 83 and 92 pounds. The 92 pounder was thought to be pushing towards being overweight.
Also brides are starting to be fed through nasal tubes a week before their wedding so they fit in their wedding dresses. Too much work and too much risk. As for me, I may be old,but lets eat some wedding cake.
Yes, you are right. Incorrect way of diet is really harmful to you. Also, I think the incorrect way of diet is something similar to placebo, because the commercial of it really exaggerats its fast effect to the customers that they are easily hooked by fake information. The only good diet I think is exercising regularly and eating healthy food in a appropriate amount.
You're right. In my health class in high school, we had to research one of those diets and my group did the beer diet. You basically only drink beer, which you will die from. And once you stop, all the weight you had lost will come back. These diets are harmful while you're on them and ineffective.
Your post is so true. People never realize how ineffective crash diets can be. But as you said, with tv commercials for the newest diet pills, people are constantly given the impression that these kinds of diets work. Hopefully people will soon realize how bad they can actually be for you! Great post!
