Revising Papers

I thought it was really nice of Maggie to let us revise our papers if we get a B or lower. It gives us a chance to improve our grade, which is always nice. Also, it helps us learn from our mistakes and it helps us become better writers. I also thought it was nice that we get to fix our mechanical errors in our previous papers for extra credit. I am sure other teachers in the future will not give this option, so if I can, I will take advantage of it.

I would have to agree. I really like the feeling that making us better writers is the first priority and giving grades is the second.

I also agree with you Jennifer, I think that it is very nice of Maggie to let us revise our papers. I would not think a college professor would even allow revising and to receive extra credit! I hope people take advantage of this because I suspect this does not happen often in college. It is also a great way to learn and become a better writer!

I agree as well. I am thankful for the opportunity to fix my mistakes on my previous papers. I know that most other professors will not allow us to do this, but I think that they should. The check mark thing is also good. As much as I don't like to admit it, if the teacher just corrects it for me I don't usually go back and see where or why I messed up. When Maggie puts a check next to the line I go back and try to figure out where my error is. One last thing I was wondering if an 87% is considered a b or a b+? We can still correct our mistakes if we reveived an b but not a b+ right?

I, like the rest of you, also agree. I think that having the time and being offered an opportunity to fix gramatical errors is a great one. I think when most of us make errors it's not neccisarily because we don't know how to write, I think it's often due to hastey work that we make mistakes. Also, I think it's a good thing because in the future, I will learn what I usually overlook when I am reading and/or writing a paper. So Thanks Maggie :)

I agreed with all of you. It sure is a good thing that Maggie allowed us to correct grammatical mistakes we made in our previously wrote papers. And like Erin said, those checks are helpful. But I think it will be more helpful if Maggie could provide more information on how we could fix our mistakes. What i mean is that it will be great if Maggie coud put something like "nouns" next to the checks so we know what should be fixed.
