Teatro Tomas Terry, "officially called Teatro de Cienfuegos, is named after a rich sugar-baron who came to Cuba as a poor immigrant from Venezuela. Inaugurated in 1890, the theater has been wonderfully maintained. It has been declared a national monument, and stars such as Enrico Caruso, Sarah Bernhardt, and Ana Pavlova performed here."
