Don't fight it ... just conform to the details.
"Resistance is futile" (quoth the Borg).
I found this website very helpful while I wrote my Frameworks Paper. The sample paper, written in APA format, includes precise and concise explanations of the formatting used.

Once you learn it and live it, it's like second nature and personally, I love it! I realized this slightly pathetic truth the other day when I found myself doggedly defending APA style to a friend who is a die-hard MLA fan... we realized we both probably needed to get out more.
Posted by: Ella at January 18, 2007 10:21 AMFor more of a basic format and explanations of using APA in writing a research paper, I have used a book from the Advantage Series when I did my undergraduate research project. It was very helpful since it gave examples on the steps of starting a research paper and how to conduct one well. The book also gave examples of the different styles including the APA format. I do have a copy of the fifth edition and if any of you want to take a look, I will be more than willing to let you borrow it.

I really don't like the Borg, but I have learned hte value of the APA Manual.
