Next Thursday the 9th?

Hey folks, I'm pretty new to this hours thing, but I need a little help here. I have a meet and greet to go to for an internship, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. If someone would be willing to cover those two hours, it would help me out so much! You'd be at the basement desk the whole time, so it'd be great for studying!

Hey again,
So turns out my Wednesday afternoon class might be cancel because of thanksgiving . I work 3pm to 6pm that day and have a 9am morning class. I was wondering if someone is willing to take my shift? If no one can't , its fine. I just want to see if I can get the chance to go home early rather than wait to 3pm to work. I have put it on the board for someone to take.

Hey everyone, sorry to post for more hours needing to be taken, but senior year is nuts...

I have an interview in Wisconsin next Wednesday, and its pretty much the only day I could schedule it for, so if someone could step up and take my 7:45-9:00am shift that would be fantastic. I do want to get a job, so I should probably go :)

And Sunday, December 12th is still available, so I can do graduation stuff!

Sorry again for the numerous hours I need off...but they are definitely important dates.

Public Computer Problem

There have been some problems with the way the new public computers were set up in Walter. It is possible for computers to be "locked" when in use. The problem will be fixed tomorrow, Tuesday 11/16. In the meantime, if a patron reports this problem the login and password are public, public. This should unlock the computer.

Thanks, everybody!

I just wanted to take the time to thank everybody that helped out by taking a shift or two of mine so that I may attend training the last two weeks. You have allowed me to earn a great depth of knowledge, and I thank you for working the long hours deep into the inky night. I know its not a popular shift, and for that I thank you, Rosie, Shannon, and Nathan.

Also, during my absence there was left a couple of piles of books in my office from the mail bin. They appeared not to have been processed, and I just wanted to remind everybody that does the mail, to please scan the office before they are done and make sure that all the books that have been removed from the bins have been returned and processed and put into their rightful place. I have noticed on other occasions that mail has been left in my office, and we cannot continue to have this happen.

Thanks, Tim

So I read Shannon post about finding someone to take Dec 12th shift because of graduation and I realize I'm graduating too! I work 12 pm to 6pm that day. I would love for someone to take since I would not be around. Thank you so much

More hours!

Hey everyone,

So I know everyone is sick of this whole hour replacement junk, but I wanted to get this on here early before its the week off and nobody has taken my shift! I really can't come in on Sunday December 12th, 6-midnight. I am graduating that afternoon and my family is coming until Monday. We have dinner reservations and all that fun stuff. So if someone could take the hours that'd be really awesome. Great final study time ;)

Shannon

There have been some changes and updates made to the schedule. Please take a look and be aware of the changes. This is also a good time to remind everyone that changes can happen at anytime of the day, any day of the week, so please be sure to look at the schedule when you start to work and periodically during the shift. Hitting F5 should refresh the page so if changes have been made, you will see the most up to date version of the schedule.

Thanks,
Mary

Hey! So here's my problem. A couple of my classes got canceled the week of Thanksgiving, meaning I could possibly go home earlier, IF I can get someone to cover my shifts on November 23rd. They are super easy shifts, Tuesday 7:45-12 and 2-6. please if anyone can help me out with even one or part of these shifts, I would be eternally grateful. I havent been home at all this year, and getting these shifts covered would mean two more days at home. text me at 262 865 1030, or look on the board at work, ill put them up there when i work tomorrow. Thanks!! Heidi Werner

On Saturday you can get an extra hour of sleep as we fall back an hour with Day Light Saving time ending. Be sure to reset your clock so you are on time for anything you do on Sunday morning!

Hourly Gate Counts

Hi Everyone,

In order to use fewer mail bins and save wear and tear on the books, here are some tips to follow when placing books in the mail bins:

Put bigger books at the bottom of the pile.

Turn books so they stack neatly in at least two stacks. Often times you can make 3 stacks.

Reorganize as you place more books in the bin so bigger always go to the bottom and smaller on top.

If one bin is really full and the other not, move some books to the emptier bin to create an even load between the bins (this is being kind to the staff who load and unload these bins as they are moved around campus).

Put some of the smaller books around the sides or between the stacks, vertically or on their side, to take advantage of that space and help keep the other books from sliding around and getting damaged.

Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I have to put a couple shifts up for grab because I have drill for the National guard on the following days: Friday the 19th of November and Friday the 10th of December. Both shifts are 12-6 with 1 hr of Get-it's and 1hr of shelving. The other 4hrs are at the Basement desk. If anyone could fill these, that would be great and much appreciated.

Thanks,

- Alex

Hello everyone, I am trying to get off work a little early this Friday. My shift is 2-9 and I was hoping to get off by 6.. but 7 at the latest. If you could take the last part of my shift that would be great and if you wanted to take more of it so it's worth the trip in then be my guest! I'm fine giving the entire shift up or working 2-6 or 7ish.

Thanks again,
Micah
