1. The printer is not working on the 2nd floor Circ computer. Please log into the Reference computer using the ul-pse-desk login. The password is on the pink PROCEDURES binder. DO NOT LOGIN WITH THE UL-CIRC-WAL-DESK LOGIN, THE PRINTER WILL STILL NOT WORK!
2. SMART Learning Commons is not staffed this Saturday. There should be staff Sunday. Test prep books that are usually at SMART are now at the B-desk near the RESERVES videos. These DO NOT LEAVE THE LIBRARY. In-library use only. They return at the Basement desk.

]]>I'm supposed to go home for the holiday to go to this show with my family and was wondering if anyone could pick up these two shifts for me. I'm also willing to trade, I don't work on Friday's and Sundays for the Summer term.

This is a reminder to keep a constant eye on the drop-boxes at the desk.
It is also a reminder that those that are opening the Basement desk need to clear the 24-hour book drop. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, please ask Amy Lewis, or Priscilla or Tim when they come in. If the 24-hour drop is not closed, we run a risk of damaging books as they overflow and fall to the floor.

]]>Walter Great Hall and Walter room 208 will be open 24 hours starting today, Friday, May 3 at 8am and going through Saturday, May 18 at 6pm. Levels B, S, F, 204 (SMART LC) and 206 (Reference) will not be open 24 hours, no matter how many times the students ask.
There is an alarm door between room 208 and room 206 that needs to be armed at midnight and disarmed at 8am. Full-time staff will handle this Monday-Friday, but we need your help doing this on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you are opening or closing the 2nd Floor desk on Saturday and Sunday from now through May 18th, this is your duty. The key you use is the W1 key (on the key ring at the second floor desk).
If you are working the 2nd floor till close Saturday or Sunday night:
At midnight, please use the W1 key to arm the security door into room 206. Turn the key clockwise. The light should flash and there should be one very loud beep.
If you opening the 2nd floor desk Saturday or Sunday morning:
At 8am, please use the W1 key to disarm the door into room 206. Turn the key counterclockwise. Depress the bar to make sure it is unarmed.
If you need help, the security monitors can assist you.

Mail bins will now be dropped off and picked up in a locked room --- Walter 108A. If you go through the doors past the time clock (heading toward the mail area), you will see the room. I've added a key to the circulation key ring (in the locked "black box")--the key is marked SS2.

]]>Just a reminder in the busy time of the semester to make sure you are checking out RESERVE items to students. All items that leave the RESERVE shelf must be checked out to students even if they will be "not even be leaving the library!" (that's kind of the point).
What with midterms and the end of term coming up, we need to know what RESERVE items have been checked out and what is available right now. We also need to make sure the items are coming back within two hours. All RESERVE items need to be checked out to students, otherwise we are asking for them to be stolen. Also please note, due to the high demand for these items, please do not check out an unreasonable number of RESERVE items to one patron. Students cannot read five books and watch three videos in the allotted 2 or 3 hours.
