Kudos! Congrats!

April was customer service month. As part of this, secret shoppers were sent to the libraries on campus to look for specific customer service qualities in the library staff. Shannon, Christina, Kim, and Kathryn were secret shopped, and demonstrated these qualities, scoring 9 or 10 out of 10. We were happy to present them their Customer Service Certificates for excellence. Great job! Keep up the good work!

First, I'd like to say, thank you! to everyone who recorded gate counts this month. Only one count was missed, a huge improvement over the previous months! Our total visits for April was 85,402. That's up from 84,528 last year. Our real numbers are actually probably higher than that, since there was an anomaly that threw out one whole day's worth of counts at the basement gate. On April 14 (Wed.), the gate counts jumped from 267191 to 2849. This equals a zero for that day since the Excel macro doesn't count negative numbers. I don't know why the gate did that. Did it get shut off that day? When the counts get up to 999,999, it jumps back to 0 and starts counting again, but the gate was nowhere near that. Mystery...
