Minnesota Liberians rallied in front of the State Capitol Tuesday for their right to stay in the United States, Kare 11 said.
Liberian war refugees are forced to return to their homeland in October, Kare 11 said. A bill introduced by Rep. Keith Ellison Thursday, however, could allow Liberians to apply for permanent residency, Star Tribune said.
Approximately 1,000 Liberians live in Minnesota, which is higher than any other state, Star Tribune said.
