Support Groups for Persons with Dementia

Download file

An important part of person centered care is providing support experiences for persons with dementia. Over the course of 13 years, we've developed an innovative approach to these support groups. We don't limit our groups to those with early stage dementia, but rather find ways of connecting people together at all levels of impairment. This presentation describes the history of our support group model and some of the lessons we've learned about facilitating group where the LEAST interesting thing about members is the disease.
