The dwarf iris are right on time. The first shoots appeared the last week of March and they bloomed the first week of April. They're done now. These pictures were taken 4/6/06.

Looks like this year will be a good one all around in the garden; some of the plants that didn't do well last year are doing better this go around, including the crocuses. In fact, this is the best they've done since we've been here. I think it's worth getting some more in the fall. What's in already are just the usual varieties, but they're really beautiful and tough little plants. There's also a pretty and lone solid white one, but the picture didn't turn out. These pictures are from 4/6/06. P.S. For my southern relatives: our entire house isn't falling apart, just the concrete stoop. The last few winters have been comparatively mild and the freeze/thaw cycle is hard on concrete...
