Wooooo!

I never thought I would be going to South Africa, but here we are at our gate! I waited so long to do this post partly because I am a great procrastinator but I also wanted to think of something meaningful to write. I found as it got closer to the time to leave I couldnt think of anything because I have no idea of what to expect. I know it will be an amazing experience no matter what happens and so I am trying to go into it with an ever expanding mindset. 

I am excited to be in a new country on the other side of the world. It was difficult to figure out what to pack, and especially hard at the moment to wrap my mind around any climate that is not Minnesota winter. I want to meet new people and go to new places that are entirely different than anything I have encountered. It will be great to see a new climate with new wildlife and animals that I have never seen outside of a zoo. And for some reason I am very excited about trying new foods! 

I was very nervous this morning about leaving for the airport, but my worries were eased after meeting up with the other group members who were all so excited. Alright, they're calling our seats! South Africa here we come!
