Everyday objects glean their patina of "everydayness" through habituated, patterned, and comfortable use. As we touch, watch, listen, or move them, their particular physical qualities guide our fluid interactions with them. A tacit knowledge of what we can anticipate amplifies our conception of them as ordinary things. What happens when we shift our modes of sensory interaction to re-imagine these everyday objects? In this workshop we will transform ordinary things into objects with sonic voices, visual memories, and animated surfaces. As we explore how they activate our creativity and expand our conception of the everyday, we hope to bring together artists, technologist, designers, and other playful people to transform ordinary things and re-imagine future scenarios of the everyday.
