New York Times IMPORTANT Reminder

newspaper.jpg

When checking in the New York Times, please please please remember to look for:

-- New York Times Magazine
-- New York Times Book Review

These two items MUST be taken out of the paper and placed on the "problem newspaper" shelf. We don't have the NY Times Magazine for any of May, which means it was probably thrown out when ads were removed.

TIP: Sort through newspaper ads to make sure to never toss items like TV Guide, Want Ads, Classifieds, NY Times Magazine & Book Review, or other special sections that may be mixed in with ads.

i'll make sure to look for those, but normally what days of the week/month do these sections come with the paper? Is the magazine only on sundays?

I'll look for them. Also, what Maggie said is a good point. Are there specific days to look for them?

Good question! Both items (magazine & book review) come with the Sunday New York Times. This paper usually arrives on Mondays, but will occassionally get here later in the week. So, always keep your eyes open for it.

Also, you will not always find the magazine or book review in the paper. This is because they both should be removed by the folks upstairs who initially process the papers. However, MUCH of the time, these items are not removed. So, it's our job to always check for these items.

Any other questions?

i'm game for a little weekely treasure hunt, should be a great time

Sounds like a plan

I will be sure to look for them

Roger That!

Sometimes at Magrath Library, I see the New York Times Style Magazine come in with the Book Review and Magazine. I think those are well-groomed here before they reach us, but it would be wise to keep our eyes peeled for those. My rule when I do newspapers at Magrath is: "If it has a section number or is not selling anything, keep it."

Charlie's comment has been edited because the policy at Wilson Periodicals is to NEVER throw out a T.V. Guide in any newspaper.
