Monday Night Recap

Monday night shift went very smooth with no major problems. Mostly just questions about finding certain journals with specific dates. All is well on the home front.

Saturday Re-cap

Little happened. Brian and I both shelved and cleaned. The room was picked up. There was a man who had a question that I could not help him with (it about a missing volume.) I gave him Lois' contact card.

Nightly Recap

Tonight there were several questions that Aaron and I didn't know the answer to but luckily Becky was around to help us out. One problem that came up was that a patron found a specific newspaper microfilm that was in the wrong box. We then finished up with a room pickup for the evening.

Nightly Overview

Once again tonight was fairly slow. Janette and I were able to get some more unbound dusting done, and there were only a few questions on how to use the microfilm readers.

Watch for water damage

As most of you have seen, we have 2 water leaks out in the periodicals room. If you find any more please alert full-time staff immediately. Also, if you find any leaks in the stacks while shelving let us know, we have plastic sheeting that we can put out to protect the journals.
Please review the libraries emergency procedures found hanging by the desk or from the link below:

Nightly Recap

Tonight was a fairly slow night at the desk so there really were not a lot of challenging questions for us. Dan and I were able to crank out a full shelf of unbound dusting, and ended the evening with a large load of books from our room pickup. Overall it was good night at the reserve desk!

Nightly Recap

Every thing went smooth. A few questions with the microfilm scanners but every problem was resolved. The leaks are still leaking very slowly but the buckets are positioned in the right place.

It's the Season of Blue Surveys!

It's Spring time and so we're doing the usual housecleaning, which includes taking time for self-assessment. To this end, there is a box at the desk with blue survey forms. Please ask patrons if they would like to fill one out. You can roll this into your regular duties:

"Here's your book, it's due back at 4:15, and would you like to fill out a library survey today?"

See? Easy as pie!

Please post to acknowledge that you have read and understand this entry.
