September 2009 Archives
The Women's Center started the Be! campaign just before the start of the 2009-2010 academic year. With our 50th anniversary looming in 2010, we wanted a way to highlight all of the many options available to women. While there are still many things to achieve, many things to fight for, there are also numerous successes.
In the words of one of the Women's Center staff members: "Women's Centers and feminism have always been about choice, about giving women options or making them aware of the options available to them. It's always been about making sure that women know that there are all kinds of ways to be authentic and involved...there are so many things to be."
To that end, nearly all of the Women's Center materials this year contain "Be!" - our pens, our post-it notes, our mugs, our buttons, our promotional materials, etc. We have "Be!" postcards that YOU can complete and send back to us.
We will use postcards anonymously, so feel free to be creative. Throughout the year, we'll scan them in and show everyone all of the ideas that people have had about all the things that they want to be.
Check back frequently to see the postcards!
