bloggers and academic jobs

A recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education argues that professors who blog have a few disadvantages (compared to non-bloggers) while searching for jobs. It's a good thing, then, that I'm not on the market.

As someone soon to be on the market, I'm not afraid...yet! I've heard of the article, but I think the academic world hasn't explored all that can be done with blogs, and when academia catches up, it won't be such a bad thing after all!
