I read about this recently too. I think one of the Jena 6 was in the news a few days ago as his conviction was tossed out because he wasn't supposed to be tried as an adult? I'll have to sleuth some more on this.

Hi Walt,

This story seems to be making its way very slowly through mainstream media outlets--this all started several months ago! (I just learned about it myself and I consider myself a news junkie.)

Color of Change is organizing a national Day of Action on September 20. There will be rallies, but they're also asking people to make phone calls and sign petitions.

Democracy Now! and Counterpunch.org also have some good articles/interviews on the Jena 6.
