I think using a gradients in the background was a great way to express the characters emotions. In the first pic she's holding a mop and bucket and the background seems to get duller and duller. In the one with the dress and the slipper the background seems to express a much more vibrant and excited feeling. The way you draw her with a certain amount of low-detail really gives her a sharp look. I really like the first one with the mop. You did a great job of comming up with an original design I hadn't seen before, and the image still easily reads as Cinderella.

I also did Cinderella for this project, but we did two completely different ways of putting it together. I love the style that you used when doing this narrative peice. It's a very unique style that could be used in so many more ways. I would really have liked to see this in a quicktime movie form just to hear music and see how the images progress. I agree with Joellyn during critique that it does seem a little too Disney-like, but I think it has an oriental feel almost that gives it that extra kick. Nice Job with this assignment. ... also can't wait to see the rest of your blog when it's finished!

I really enjoyed your twist on the Cinderella story. The imagery is really quite beautiful. There is a simple yet elegant appeal. It was refreshing to see a "modern" version because I'm so used to seeing it told in the classical fairy tale way. Nice work!
