According to CNN.com, the new rules came about when there was a seventh incident when an air traffic controller was suspended after being found sleeping on the job.
"Controllers will now have a minimum of nine hours off between shifts, instead of the current eight-hour minimum." Most controllers are given shifts of a week of midnight flights and then a week of morning flights following right after. "Controllers can no longer be put on an unscheduled midnight shift following a day off."

]]>According to CNN.com, the tunnel collapsed when 53-year-old Larry Marek and another co-worker were working in the Lucky Friday mine when a wall of mainly rock fell down. The other co-worker was able to escape.
According to the AP report, the co-worker was Marek's brother. The only statement released by the family was that Marek was trapped after the roof of the tunnel collapsed and that family members were at the site.
Rescuers were able to dig 32 feet of about 75 feet of the dirt and rocks that caved in. A machine from the East Coast will be shipped to help dig the rest of the rocks while rescuers watch from a safe distance.

The driver was 48-year-old Jeffery D. Moore of Mooresville, Ind.
The other driver was identified as 42-year-old Andrey Sasin, of New York. Sasin was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Alcohol does not seem a factor but Wisconsin State Patrol say that Sasin was facing an enforcement action.

]]>The statue was specially made in Vietnam for Tuan Pham was in the middle of a dispute between Pham's family and the St. Paul City Council, being cited to being too close to the Mississippi River bluffline. The required distance is 40-feet.
According to the Pioneer Press, Pham's wife woke up at 6 a.m. Sunday to find piles of small wood at the base of the statue and an aerosol can and matches nearby. A smaller statue next to the 7-foot statue was damaged.
As reported in the Star Tribune, the family set up "Do not touch" signs by the woodpile and the aerosol can so as not to disturb the evidence. The family sees this as a sign, where Pham believes that he should never give up like God and that he should "follow him."
The statue's base was discolored and covered in gray soot.
This is the second time the statue has been damaged. The first time somebody fired a paintball at the Jesus statue about a year ago.
