A furture monarch without male heir, a depressed crown princess, a group of anxious officials whose immediate goal is to prevent the little girl, Princess Aiko, to ascend the Throne.

Feb 1, more than 1,000 people joined the succession protest in Tokyo against a proposed law change that would overturn a male-only tradition in the monarchy and allow Princess Aiko, the only child of Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako, to ascend the Chrysanthemum Throne.
